When there is settlement, FIR to be quashed

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered in 2016 against one of our client under Sections 186/353 & 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984 at Police Station Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi.

After 3 years, our client arrived at a settlement with the respondent and both agreed to file a joint petition to quashed the FIR. Letter of Authorization was placed on record and the Investigation officer (IO) has also verified the settlement arrived between the parties.

Both the parties submitted before the court that in terms of the settlement, the petition may be allowed and the aforesaid FIR to be quashed. Justice Chander Shekhar quashed the FIR taking into consideration of the age, occupation and socio-economic
condition of the petitioner after being directed to deposit a sum of Rs.3000/- within four weeks from the order.

The original order is attached. When there is settlement -FIR to be quashed
